Henry completed his 29th radiation treatment yesterday. It's officially the end of his treatment for the tumor.
We're thrilled for him. We feel so lucky that he's come through such difficult treatments without major side effects or complications.
As I've said many times, we're far from out of the woods, and will now learn how to live with fear and uncertainty. But this is exactly where we wanted to be, and I am deeply grateful for that.

Perhaps not surprisingly, I'm one of those people who espouses the view that you become a cancer survivor the day you're diagnosed, and everything done after that is extending survivorship.
Now both you and Henry are coming to the place where, day after day, it gets a little bit easier, a little less anxiety-provoking, and you adapt to the "new normal", and trust me, that feels *really* good, even through profound limitations.
I'll celebrate with something high-calorie! This is the best possible justification for a bad-for-me snack! Join me in a celebration - I hate being a glutton alone!

Oh, congratulations! I'm so thrilled to hear that.
My daughter's 3 1/2 years out now, and although you never really get rid of the fear and uncertainty, it's not nearly as bad as the treatment phase. I wish all of you all of the luck in the world!
